Report: Commanders' Cosmi, Cross ruled out against Colts

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Washington Commanders guard Sam Cosmi and safety Nick Cross are not traveling with the team Tuesday night to London and have been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts. Schefter reported Cosmi is listed with a concussion/throat issue and Cross with an illness.

The absences affect a Commanders team that is 1-2. Washington ranks 17th of 32 teams in offensive EPA and 29th of 32 in defensive EPA. The Colts also enter at 1-2, with the 14th-ranked offense by EPA and the 31st-ranked defense by EPA among 32 teams.

Washington's available production

Cosmi, a guard, has appeared in one game in 2025-26 and recorded one total tackle in the data provided. The report identifies his concussion/throat designation as the reason he will not travel and says he has been ruled out for Sunday.

Cross, a safety, has played two games in 2026-27. He has 11 total tackles, including eight solo tackles, and three tackles for loss. Those are the reported and available production figures for the two Commanders players who will miss the Colts game.

The report does not identify replacements for Cosmi or Cross, nor does it provide a timeline beyond Sunday’s game. It says both players are not traveling with Washington to London and are ruled out against Indianapolis.
