Vikings add Max Brosmer, Kyle Van Noy to active roster

The Minnesota Vikings announced Tuesday, in roster moves reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, that they have signed quarterback Max Brosmer and outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy to the active roster. The Vikings also placed tight end Josh Oliver on injured reserve, released punter Johnny Hekker, signed outside linebacker Kenny Dyson to the practice squad, and released running backs Jerome Ford and Jaret Patterson and defensive end Jonathan Harris from the practice squad.

Brosmer appeared in seven games for Minnesota in 2025-26, completing 47 of 71 passes for 328 yards with four interceptions. He was sacked 14 times, added 11 rushing yards on seven attempts and lost one of his two fumbles. Van Noy has played three games for the Vikings in 2026-27, recording seven tackles, five solo tackles, two sacks and four tackles for loss.

Oliver had three catches on five targets for 46 yards in two 2026-27 games before the injured-reserve move. Hekker appeared in one game in 2026-27. Dyson, listed in the data as Kenny Dyson Jr., played one game in 2024-25 and posted two tackles, including one solo stop.

Among the practice-squad releases, Ford played 13 games in 2025-26, with 73 rushing yards on 24 attempts and 103 receiving yards on 26 catches. Patterson totaled 159 rushing yards and one touchdown on 41 attempts across six 2025-26 games. Harris recorded 10 tackles, four solo tackles and one tackle for loss in seven games in 2024-25. Minnesota is 3-0, with the NFL’s 25th-ranked offense and second-ranked defense by EPA among 32 teams.
