Hukporti went down with an Achilles injury in Monday's preseason opener against the Knicks, and an MRI has since revealed a rupture. He signed a one-year deal with the 76ers over the summer, so Hukporti will be an unrestricted free agent come season's end. With Hukporti's year already finished, Adem Bona (foot) should assume the backup center role behind Joel Embiid once healthy. Що змінює його відсутність
Bona is already expected to miss Friday's preseason finale against Boston, but he's still aiming to be ready for the start of the regular season. Once healthy, Bona is in line to serve as the No. 2 center behind Joel Embiid.
Simons continues to deal with tightness in his hamstring, though he's trending in the right direction. For now, he's questionable at best for the next preseason game Oct. 16 against the Celtics.
Barlow has missed the entire preseason so far and remains without a timetable to return. He can be considered questionable at best for Friday's preseason finale against Boston.
Brown will skip his first meeting against his former team in Boston, but he should be able to get back out there for Friday's rematch with the Celtics. Justin Edwards and Dean Wade will help pick up the slack Saturday with Brown unavailable.
Head coach Nick Nurse is resting most of the vets for Saturday's exhibition, so Jabari Walker could get all the run he can handle. Embiid should return for Friday's preseason rematch with Boston.
LeBron James (rest), Joel Embiid (rest) and Jaylen Brown (rest) will join Caldwell-Pope on the inactive list for Saturday's exhibition, which may result in major minutes for Rayan Rupert and Caleb Love. Caldwell-Pope's next chance to play will come Friday in a rematch with the Celtics.
The Sixers will be resting several players for this contest, and James is one of the many projected starters who will be taking a seat alongside Joel Embiid and Jaylen Brown. The 76ers will manage James' workload carefully with an eye toward having him ready for the regular-season opener against the Knicks on Tuesday, Oct. 20.
This is a tough blow for Fall, as he's already facing an uphill battle to make the final roster. A return Oct. 16 isn't out of the question based on this timetable.
