Kyrie Irving is set to return to game action for the first time in 19 months this weekend, according to Marc Stein of The Stein Line. Stein reported Thursday that a calf strain sustained last December delayed Irving’s recovery from a March 2025 ACL tear by eight weeks, and that Irving was ruled out for the entire 2025-26 season on Feb. 18.
The Dallas Mavericks guard last played in 2024-25, when he appeared in 50 games and averaged 36 minutes, 24.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game. He posted a 59.4 true shooting percentage and 27.6 usage percentage while recording a 2.5 plus-minus per game.
Irving’s 3.2 Keel Impact, a rating of a player’s contribution against average, ranked 28th of 371 players with 500 minutes or more. Over his final 10 games that season, he averaged 25.4 points, 5 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 36 minutes per game.
Dallas went 26-56 in 2025-26 with a -5.3 net rating, ranking 23rd among 30 teams. The Mavericks ranked 27th offensively and 20th defensively.
