Game card: Arizona Cardinals 18, Los Angeles Rams 16, with each team's leader
The Arizona Cardinals (1-4), allowing a league-high 32.4 points a game, visit the Los Angeles Rams (2-3) and the NFL's top passing offense at SoFi Stadium on Sunday, October 18, at 4:05 PM ET.
The Cardinals' pass defense ranks 30th and allows 252.4 passing yards a game. The Rams lead the NFL with 316.8, so Matthew Stafford should find room against that secondary.
The Rams allow 128.4 rushing yards a game, 26th in the league, but Arizona gains only 91.6 on the ground, 24th. Against a Los Angeles pass defense that allows 165 yards a game, second fewest, the Cardinals' 26th-ranked passing offense has little to lean on.
Stafford has 1,571 passing yards in five starts, and Davante Adams leads the Rams with 441 receiving yards and four touchdown catches. Jacoby Brissett has 1,110 passing yards in five starts for Arizona, and tight end Trey McBride has 42 catches.
Running back Jeremiyah Love, the Cardinals' rushing leader with 245 yards, is out with an ankle injury. Safety Budda Baker, who leads the team with three sacks, is questionable with a groin injury. Safeties Andrew Wingard and Wydett Williams Jr. are also out.
The Rams have three questionable defensive backs: safety Kam Curl and cornerbacks Trent McDuffie and Zech McPhearson.
The Cardinals come off a 45-21 home loss to Detroit. The Rams lost 37-34 at home to Buffalo last time out.
The game is played under the SoFi Stadium roof in Inglewood, California. Sportsbooks' prices give the Rams an 86% chance to win.
