Game card: Dallas Cowboys 13, Green Bay Packers 23, with each team's leader
The Dallas Cowboys (2-3), owners of the NFL's seventh-ranked scoring offense, visit the Green Bay Packers (3-2) on Sunday, October 18, at 8:20 PM ET at Lambeau Field, where the league's top takeaway team meets its worst running game.
Dallas allows 168.4 rushing yards a game, the most in the league. Green Bay gains 60.4 on the ground, the fewest. With Josh Jacobs out, MarShawn Lloyd, who has 112 yards on 40 carries, carries the load against that defense.
The turnover numbers point the other way. The Packers take the ball away 3.2 times a game, first in the league; the Cowboys manage 0.6, last. Dallas protects its quarterback well, allowing 1.2 sacks a game, second fewest. Green Bay's pass rush records 3.4.
Dak Prescott has nine touchdown passes in five starts and 1,381 yards, and CeeDee Lamb leads the Cowboys with 507 receiving yards. Jordan Love has 10 touchdown passes in five starts for Green Bay, and Christian Watson has six touchdown catches among his 26 receptions.
Cornerback Cobie Durant and tackle Drew Shelton are out for Dallas, and cornerback Joey Porter Jr. is questionable with an ankle injury. Three more Cowboys are questionable. Green Bay lists Jacobs, cornerback Benjamin St-Juste and defensive tackle Javon Hargrave out, along with two others, and four more Packers are questionable.
Green Bay beat Chicago 31-7 at home in its last game. Dallas lost 24-16 to Tampa Bay at home, a week after a 34-30 win at Houston.
Clear skies and 55°F are expected in Green Bay. Sportsbook prices give the Packers a 52% chance to win and the Cowboys 48%.
