Tennessee's Joey Slye kicked field goals of 49 and 44 yards in the final two minutes, and the Titans beat the Indianapolis Colts 26-20 on Sunday, October 18, after trailing 13-0 at halftime.
Slye's 49-yarder, with 2:03 left, finished an eight-play, 52-yard drive and answered Indianapolis' tying touchdown. The Colts went four plays and out on downs, and Tennessee took over at the Indianapolis 31.
Four plays and 18 seconds later, Slye kicked the 44-yarder with 0:43 left. Indianapolis moved 19 yards in five plays on its last drive and turned the ball over on downs again.
Tennessee (1-5) scored all of its points in the second half, after two quarters in which the Titans never reached the end zone. Indianapolis (2-4) had led by as many as 13.
The Colts built that lead on a 1-yard touchdown pass from Daniel Jones and two field goals before the break. Tennessee started its comeback with a short field goal after a third-quarter fumble, then added a 56-yarder.
Early in the fourth quarter, Cam Ward threw an 8-yard touchdown pass to Carnell Tate to tie it at 13. On Indianapolis' next possession, a punt was blocked, Tennessee's Oladejo recovered it and ran it in from 14 yards to make it 20-13. That play moved the Titans' win probability from 44% to 74%.
Jonathan Taylor tied the game at 20 with a 4-yard touchdown run later in the quarter.
Jones went 22 of 42 for 269 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. Taylor ran for 94 yards on 21 carries. Indianapolis turned the ball over three times in all, and Jones was one of six sacks the Colts took.
The Colts outgained Tennessee 434 yards to 186 and ran 73 plays to the Titans' 44, with 165 yards on the ground. Ward went 11 of 22 for 102 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Tony Pollard ran for 76 yards on 19 carries, and Tate caught six passes for 70 yards.
