The Memphis Grizzlies are waiving guards Walter Clayton Jr. and Micah Peavy, ESPN's Shams Charania reported Monday. The team has not announced the move. Clayton was the No. 18 pick in 2025.
Clayton averaged 7.8 points, 2 rebounds and 4 assists in 20.5 minutes per game for Memphis in 2025-26, starting six of 69 games. Over his last 10 games he averaged 11.7 points and 5.1 assists, though the Grizzlies were outscored by 13.6 points per game with him on the floor in that stretch.
Peavy, a guard-forward, averaged 4.3 points and 1.9 rebounds in 14.9 minutes for the New Orleans Pelicans in 2025-26. He started four of 61 games and shot 45.5% true shooting.
