The Golden State Warriors have started exploring trades for forward-center Kristaps Porzingis, who is seriously contemplating his future in basketball, ESPN's Shams Charania reported Wednesday, citing sources. No deal has been reported.

Porzingis is dealing with recurring symptoms from postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), an autoimmune condition, Charania reported. The talks are exploratory.

Porzingis played 32 games for the Warriors in 2025-26, 23 as a starter, and averaged 16.7 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 24 minutes. He shot 58.2 true shooting percentage and used 27.7% of Golden State's possessions while on the floor. The team was 1.4 points per game better with him on the court.

Over his last 10 games that season, all starts, he averaged 15.4 points and 6.1 rebounds, and the Warriors were 0.9 points per game worse with him playing. Our player rating, Keel Impact, put him at 1.7, 91st of 379 players with 500 minutes or more.

Golden State went 37-45 in 2025-26 with a net rating of -0.6, 20th of 30 teams. The Warriors ranked 18th in offense and 17th in defense.
