Wembanyama scores 29 as Spurs rout Kings 130-103

Victor Wembanyama scored 29 points in 27 minutes, and the San Antonio Spurs routed the Sacramento Kings 130-103 on Tuesday, October 27, with a lead that reached 28 points in the third quarter.

Wembanyama made 14 of 21 shots, grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked five shots without a turnover. San Antonio broke the game open in the second quarter with an 11-0 run that put it ahead 59-38.

The Spurs scored 39 points in the first quarter and 41 in the second. Sacramento's only lead was 11-10, early in the first quarter. San Antonio improved to 2-2 and the Kings fell to 0-4.

San Antonio's lead peaked at 97-69 midway through the third quarter. Julian Champagnie, off the bench, finished with 26 points on 9-of-14 shooting, including 8-of-13 from three.

Sacramento's scoring came from its starters. De'Andre Hunter had 24 points with five threes, and Zach LaVine added 22 on 7-of-10 shooting. Domantas Sabonis had 20 points, 14 rebounds and eight assists. The Kings were outscored by 20 with LaVine on the floor.

Darius Acuff Jr. scored 19 but needed 20 shots to get there, making eight. Sacramento shot 43 percent and made 13 of 37 threes, while the Spurs made 17 of 37.

San Antonio's reserves outscored Sacramento's 48-14, with Keldon Johnson scoring 14 of them. Tarris Reed Jr. hit a two-point shot with 2:01 left for a 126-101 lead, and Johnson closed the scoring with a driving layup and a free throw with 44.4 seconds left.
