Game card: Houston Rockets at Milwaukee Bucks, Wed, Oct 28, 8:00 PM
The Houston Rockets (4-0), owners of the NBA's third-best offense, visit the Milwaukee Bucks (1-3) on Wednesday, October 28, with a Bucks defense ranked 20th in the league waiting. Tip-off is at 8:00 PM ET.
The Rockets score 118.1 points per 100 possessions and post a true shooting percentage of 62.4, also third in the league. Milwaukee allows 114.6 per 100, so the Bucks must stop a team that rarely misses.
Houston also crashes the glass. Its offensive rebound rate of 32.9% is fourth in the league, while Milwaukee's defensive rebound rate of 75.1% is eighth, so second chances will be contested.
Milwaukee forces almost nothing. Its opponents' turnover rate of 10.2% ranks 30th, which leaves the Rockets, 22nd in turnover rate themselves at 14.4%, little penalty for loose passes.
Tyler Herro leads the Bucks with 23.5 points and 5.8 assists a game. Myles Turner averages 2.8 blocks and gives Milwaukee its rim protection against Houston's drives.
For the Rockets, Amen Thompson grabs 9 rebounds a game, and Fred VanVleet hands out seven assists with 0.7 turnovers.
Alperen Sengun, Houston's leading scorer at 24.5 points a game, is out. Steven Adams is also out and Marcus Smart is questionable. Two more Rockets are out. Milwaukee lists no injuries.
The Rockets have won four straight, each by at least four points. Milwaukee lost 127-116 at Philadelphia and 132-125 to Chicago before beating Indiana 110-102 at home.
Sportsbooks' prices give Houston a 73% chance to win. Keel's projection, built from the players available, has the Rockets at 72%.
