Spurs, stingiest at the foul line, visit Jazz who live there

The San Antonio Spurs (2-2), whose opponents reach the foul line less than anyone's, visit the Utah Jazz (1-3), who lean on free throws, at 9:00 PM ET on Wednesday, October 28.

Utah's free throw rate of 0.340 is fourth in the league. San Antonio's opponents get to the line at a rate of 0.203, the lowest, so the Jazz's easiest source of points meets the tightest door.

The bigger problem for Utah is at the other end. Its defensive rating of 117.3 is 25th, and opponents shoot 55.4 effective field goal percentage against it. San Antonio's offense, 10th at 113.4, turns the ball over on 11.5% of its possessions, fifth best.

Victor Wembanyama averages 22.3 points, 10.8 rebounds and 4.3 blocks for the Spurs, and De'Aaron Fox adds 7.8 assists a game. Keyonte George leads Utah with 22.8 points and 7.8 assists, and Airious Bailey grabs 8.5 rebounds.

San Antonio is without Tobias Harris and Jayden Quaintance, both out, though Harris' listed return date is this game.

Utah's report is longer. Jaren Jackson Jr. and Jusuf Nurkic are out, three more Jazz players are out, and Lauri Markkanen and Jaxson Hayes are questionable.

The Spurs have won two straight, 130-103 over Sacramento and 122-106 at Dallas. Utah has lost two in a row.

Sportsbooks' prices give San Antonio an 83% chance to win, and Keel's projection has the Spurs at 79%.
