Tyrese Maxey hit a 29-foot 3-pointer with 46.1 seconds left and scored 27 points, and the Philadelphia 76ers beat the Indiana Pacers 114-109 on Wednesday, October 28.

Maxey shot 8-of-18, including 3-of-7 from three, and made 8 of 9 free throws. His 29-footer, set up by a LeBron James pass, came after Indiana had cut the lead to 109-106 and made it 112-106.

Philadelphia (4-1) trailed 88-75 late in the third quarter after Indiana (2-3) scored 36 points in the period. The 76ers then outscored the Pacers 39-21 in the fourth.

The 76ers had led by 15, 59-44, in a 37-point second quarter. Indiana opened the third with a 10-0 run that tied it at 62-62, then went up by 13 before the period ended.

Joel Embiid hit jumpers from 13 and 11 feet in the closing minutes to keep Philadelphia ahead, and finished with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Maxey made two free throws with 12.3 seconds left for a 114-107 lead, and Kelly Oubre Jr. dunked with 5.4 seconds left for the final score.

Pascal Siakam led Indiana with 26 points and 11 rebounds. Andrew Nembhard had 18 points and 14 assists but made only 5 of 16 shots.
